Denison Hotel - Penn & Ohio Streets

Apologies for the break--was checking out some fabulous architecture in St. Louis, among other things...
If you look closely on the right in the background, you can discern the back side of Tomlinson Hall, since they shared an alley way

From Hyman's Handbook of Indianapolis: The Denison opened in January 1880 and was considered one of the finest and most complete hotel buildings in the country. The Denison stood on the southeast corner of Pennsylvania and Ohio Streets, taking up a quarter of a city block, its dimensions being 200 x 202 feet, with 310 rooms. It was well known for being the political headquarters for the Republican party; the Democrats claimed The Grand Hotel.
