Mrs. Charles Dryer left her home at 1620 N. Central (now 1636-1638 N. Central) on Wednesday, October 2 for New York to spend a short time. Miss Raye Dryer left Tuesday, October 1 for Laise Phillips School in Washington, D. C.
The Clio Club observed Presidents’ Day October 11 at the home of Mrs. John R. Barrett of 1836 (now 1844) N. Alabama. Talks were given by retiring president Mrs. Samuel Kiger and the new president, Mrs. Barrett. General conversation was on ‘Heroines we love.’
The Monday Conversation Club met with Mrs. Dearborn of 2010 (later 2020, no longer standing) N. Alabama at 2:30 on October 7. It was Presidents’ Day and Mrs. James Roberts read an original story.
The sketching Club met Saturday afternoon October 19 at the studio of Miss Julia Walk, 2023 (now 2043) N. Delaware Street. ‘Design’ was the subject of the meeting.
The week of October 13, Mrs. George Daum of Kentucky was the guest of Mrs. Andrew Smith in Morton Place at 2106 (now 2114) N. Alabama.
Mr. Meyer S. Block, of 1908 (later 1916, no longer standing) N. Delaware, left the evening of Saturday, October 19 for New York.
Mrs. L.E. Wydman of Corning, N.Y., formerly of this city, came home October 28 to visit Mrs. J. A. Humphreys & Mrs. Robert W. McMichael at their home, 1706 N. Alabama.
The marriage of Miss Mary Owings & Mr. Charles Lizius was solemnized the evening of Wednesday, October 30 at 8:30 at the home of the bride’s sister, Mrs. John Madden in Morton Place at 1921 N. Alabama (where 1939 N. Alabama now stands).
