Ok. What gives?
Why are there such beautiful commercial buildings so close to downtown and other nearby amenities just sitting there boarded up? I happened to be on the western wing of the Cultural Trail and was just awe struck by this gorgeous building. Looks the style of 1860s-70s to me, but it's evidently post 1900. It is sitting ON the Cultural trail--so why still vacant? I know what property taxes are downtown and find it incredible that little gems like this are peppering the landscape and are evidently not involved in any forward motion of rehabilitation or occupation. What is up with that? I dream of a time that people use what they buy and respect and honor it. Bums me out, Indianapolis. WTH?
