Morton Place Connection to James Whitcomb Riley and Lockerbie

Perusing a used book store yesterday, I found a copy of "The Lockerbie Book" by James Whitcomb Riley. The author dedicates the book to E. B. Martindale. Martindale was one of the three business men who platted Morton Place: from 19th north to 22nd, Delaware, to the west side of Central Avenue.

Another small connection: artist Virginia Keep who lived in Morton Place at 1918 (now 1936) North Delaware Street did the "decorations" (not to be confused with Howard Chandler Christy's illustrations) of James Whitcomb Riley's book "An Old Sweetheart of Mine."
